When an IBS dietitian meets an app designer, a little magic happens

Tummily is the brainchild of Chelsea McCallum, an IBS dietitian and recipe developer with over 10 years of experience, and Alison Williams, an app designer with lived experience of IBS.

Together, they saw firsthand the profound difference the low FODMAP diet can make to someone’s quality of life, health and confidence. But they also saw the frustration, overwhelm and challenges of translating evidence into real-life eating.

“Managing IBS can be life-changing. I’ve seen it time and again with my clients. Most of my clients just wanted me to tell them what to eat — and I wanted to. But creating truly personalised meal plans for every individual, tailored to symptoms, preferences, lifestyle and nutritional needs, takes significant time and limits how many people I can support. I knew there had to be a better way,” Chelsea says.

“It wasn’t until I met Alison at the Free From + Allergy Show in 2023 that I realised that dream could become reality.”

Since then, the two have worked tirelessly to bring Tummily to life.

It represents three years of research, design, recipe testing, late nights, refining, and a whole lot of heart. Blood, sweat, tears… and yes, a pinch of sugar.

Bridging the gap between guidance and real life

Tummily brings together evidence-based nutrition and everyday usability, and now includes delicious, Monash University low FODMAP Certified™ recipes, so you can eat with confidence!

The team quietly launched Tummily as an IBS symptom tracking diary in late 2025. It quickly climbed into the Top 100 Medical apps, building a loyal community and earning exclusively five-star reviews.

Building on this early momentum, Tummily launched its personalised low FODMAP meal planner in April 2026, aligning with IBS Awareness Week.

Tummily’s new premium features, available through an affordable monthly subscription, give access to these Monash certified recipes that you can incorporate into your day-to-day.

“If you’ve been finding the low FODMAP diet complicated, or you’re searching for answers about your gut health, we built this for you. We truly hope you love it,” says Chelsea.
