Meet Sap N Tap!
Sap N Tap is 100% pure maple syrup, hand tapped from sugar maple trees in Vermont, USA. It is Grade A amber/rich taste and certified organic, produced without the use of herbicides or fertilizers and processed under strict organic standards as per the Vermont Organic Certification program.
When consumers taste Sap N Tap maple syrup, they’ll immediately recognize it as a natural product, a whole food, a wild craft ingredient. The syrup’s rich flavor will bring warmth and depth to any dish, whether it’s used for cooking or drizzled over a stack of hot pancakes.
About the Maple Syrup:
100% Pure Maple Syrup is made exclusively by the evaporation of maple sap. The maple sap is harvested from the native maple forests of the Northeastern United States and Eastern Canada.
“Maple sugaring” or the collection of the sap to produce the syrup, occurs in the spring generally between February and April. The best sap flows are generated from cold nights and warm days. A “sugarbush”, a group of sugar maple trees that have been purposefully grown and cared for to produce sap, can take 40 years to reach productive size from seedlings. Many trees can be tapped for years or even centuries.
Why Sap N Tap:
While all maple syrup in Australia is imported as it’s not cold to produce locally , Sap N Tap is the “local Aussie” option. For example, we’re the only maple syrup business that’s actually bottled in Australia. The maple syrup arrives by the 55-gallon drum and is then brought up to Castlemaine in Victoria for packaging by a small family business. We even use Australian-made glass bottles and other packaging materials!
Sap N Tap’s mission is to protect Australian forests by providing the most authentic, highest quality maple products to the Australian market and donating 25% of the net profits made back to non-profit organizations that help preserve said forests.
Why Sap N Tap applied for Monash’s Low FODMAP certification program:
At Sap N Tap, we are keen to support people following the low FODMAP diet who are also conscious of purchasing and consuming sustainably sourced whole foods. Our maple syrup is made simple, being 100% pure sap from a maple tree, boiled down. And, compared to refined sugar, it’s a much more nutritious sweetener - containing high traces of manganese, riboflavin and other vitamins and minerals, and has 40% less sugar content than honey.
